De Witt & Co. :: Magazines
Welcome to our "Magazines" department! If you're looking for just about any magazine of the past, this is where you can start. There are several sub-departments of Vintage Magazines - see below for a listing. Magazines of some type or another have been circulated in America since the 1700's, and have a history older than the United States herself and nearly as rich. The first two magazines in America were printed in 1741 by Andrew Bradford and Benjamin Franklin. Magazines back then, and up through much of the 19th century essentially contained works from other books and newspapers, contained much non-relevant works (specific to the publications title), and also contained current events... which today is mainly handled by newspapers.
Our Vintage Magazine department, is the top level for all of our magazines. In this department you will find most publications that, for now, do not have a subject category for them to be placed in. As inventory dictates, departments will be added to accommodate more titles and subjects.
