National Cloak & Suit Co. Catalog with Coupons (Notes) & Mailings 1910

Original catalog, coupons and mailing materials from the National Cloak & Suit Company, dated 1910 and in excellent condition. The catalog exhibits just minimal wear with a mild diagonal crease on the front cover and a small stain to the back cover (see detailed photographs below). Neither are obtrusive, and are easily overlooked.

This is a complete mailing from the National Cload & Suit Co. which includes the catalog, one green "merchandise certificate", three orange "friend's certificates", a reply postcard with envelope, the original letter and envelope. The envelope shows apparent wear and tear, but the rest of the contents are in very good to excellent condition.

Of course the real prize in this lot is the Summer Styles catalog. This includes a wide variety of women's fashions and has elaborate artwork, prices and detailed descriptions of each garment. The Victorian fashions found inside are simply stunning! The catalog measures about 6 1/2" X 8 1/2" and has 50 pages.

Next in this lot are the four coupons included in the mailing. They are all in excellent, near mint condition having only the slightest of wear... if any at all! These notes are very desirable on their own, but we decided to include them in this lot to make it complete. Each is good for fifty cents in merchandise and must be used before June 30th, 1910. Printed by International Bank Note Co. Each measures about 6 1/4" X 3 1/4".

Also included in this lot is the postcard and envelope. The postcard presumably was used for the person's on the "friends" list to receive a catalog. The envelope included was used for all correspondence and orders with the company. Over time, the envelope's flap has become partially attached. We haven't attempted to detach this.

To round off this exceptional lot of period fashions and advertising, is the original mailing envelope - somewhat tattered (see photos below) - and the original letter from the company - in good condition, having a bit of discoloration.

This is truly a rare find, and is easily the finest example of an early 20th century fashion catalog that we've run across.
