De Witt & Co. :: Other Textiles :: Victorian Embroidered Wool Tea Cozy Set of Two

Victorian Embroidered Wool Tea Cozy Set of Two
Victorian Embroidered Wool Tea Cozy Set of Two
Pair of antique Victorian embroidered wool tea cozys. Each cozy is made in four panels of heavy wool, cotton interlining, batting, and a quilted cotton lining... the walls of the cozys are 1/2" thick.
The embroidered panels represent the four seasons. Two seasons on each cozy, with the pattern repeated on alternating panels.
The inside circumference of the opening is 33", and they are both roughly 12 1/2" tall standing on their own... a bit longer if laying flat with the top extended. The panels taper to gathers at the top where a silk bow once adorned them. One bow is now in tatters, the other missing entirely. Both show some small moth spots in the wool, with one spot near the lower edge being 1 1/4" long, though it is narrow. Most of the embroidery is still in very good condition...
Direct from auction, should be laundered/cleaned before use.
