Vintage Saltillo Wool Serape Blanket 42" x 78"

Vintage blanket from Saltillo, Mexico. Wool over cotton, finely woven. I believe it is entirely colored with vegetable dyes. Rich colors, but not garish. The widest of the colored bands are a deep heathered wine, and black. 42" x 78", plus a 5 1/2" fringe at both ends. Blanket has a 3/8" separation in one of the black bands. It is not immediately apparent, and can only be seen if you pull the weft threads apart by hand, then you can see that a couple of the warp threads are broken there beneath (shown in the photo next to the quarter). Also, it has several pulled threads. ... generally these are just barely pulled, and show a small loop on the cloth, but two are pulled out several inches, and need to be woven back in or tied off. It is dusty from storage, but other than what has already been mentioned, it has no other damages of any kind. Fringe is also in very good condition.
